Cem Yalcin Explains About SAURER Group Textile Innovations for Future

Interview with Mr. Cem Yalcin, Vice President of Sales at SAURER Group at ITM 2024

At this exhibition, SAURER Group showcases all the machines that we represent in the textile market. Let me start with our latest innovation, the ring frame, named Zinser 51. This machine can go up to 2,056 positions with a maximum speed of 30,000 RPM, and the best part is, it has no gearbox inside. All the drives are direct with several motors. The doffing time is two minutes, and the empty tube feeding rate is 45 tubes per minute.

SAURER Group’s Textile Innovations on Display

You can will see our BD8 machine, which goes up to 600 positions and is designed for recycling. On the other side, we have the Autocoro 11, which can reach up to 860 positions. A unique feature of this machine is its length, which can also extend to 860 positions. We are also presenting the new AutoCard 7, boasting the highest carding area in the world, and the twisting machine from Saurer Twisting.

We also have the AutoAero11, an AirJet machine suitable not only for viscose and polyester blend applications but also for 100% combed and carded cotton, with a production speed of up to 600 meters per minute. Additionally, we have an open-end machine with two feeding rollers, allowing for blends and melange production directly on one position. At SAURER, we produce all types of yarn-producing machines, including ring frames for both short and long staples, and semi-automatic open-end machines.

Addressing Global Market Challenges

Today, it makes no big difference if you are in Turkey, Africa, the Middle East, China, or the USA. All spinners face the same issue: weak demand. Cotton prices are falling, and yarn prices are also declining. Despite this, I believe we have reached the bottom of this crisis, which has lasted for two years. Last year, mills were losing money. This year, they are still not satisfied but are no longer losing money. I am confident that in six months, we will see much better profits and a return to normalcy, regardless of the region.

Focus on Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

All our machines are designed with a strong emphasis on energy saving. For instance, our ring frame incorporates several innovations in the drive, spindle movement, and suction systems to reduce energy consumption. Compared to our previous models, this machine consumes 20% less energy.

We also have a compact system for recycling short fibers. As you know, recycling results in shorter fibers compared to natural fibers. Our new Autocoro 11 has achieved a remarkable 48% energy saving, particularly significant when dealing with recycling materials. This contributes to sustainability, allowing us to run extremely short fibers while maintaining high productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Competing in the Global Market

As a European company with international operations, our strength lies in our global presence. We have production hubs in Europe, India, and China. This global footprint allows us to stay competitive and serve all markets effectively.

SAURER Group textile innovations ; Embracing Digitalization

Digitalization is the future. All our machines are designed to communicate with each other, creating a seamless production line. Our machines can communicate not only within our brand but also with other machines. We also offer a mill management system, which enhances this communication and optimizes the entire production process.

Looking ahead, automation will become increasingly important. We foresee dark room spinning mills where automation will handle transportation to the machine, within the machine, and post-production. IT systems will be crucial to manage all data accurately and in real-time.
