Uzbekistan exported carpets worth $21.8 million from January to November 2024, according to the Uzbek Statistics Agency. The total export volume exceeded 7.32 million square meters, reflecting strong demand from regional markets.
Azerbaijan was the top importer, purchasing 2.1 million square meters, followed by the Kyrgyz Republic with 1.99 million square meters and Afghanistan with 1.22 million square meters. Russia and Kazakhstan also imported significant volumes, with 989,000 and 649,000 square meters, respectively. Exports to other countries totaled 365,000 square meters.
The steady growth in Uzbekistan’s carpet exports highlights the country’s expanding footprint in the regional textile market. With a focus on quality and competitive pricing, Uzbek manufacturers are strengthening their position in key neighboring markets.
Industry experts believe the increasing trade reflects Uzbekistan’s improved production capabilities and growing recognition of its carpets internationally. The country’s government has also taken steps to support the textile sector, enhancing trade agreements and export facilitation.
As Uzbekistan continues to develop its carpet industry, further export growth is expected in the coming years, with potential expansion into new markets beyond the region.
