ege Carpets Debuts Superflex Modular Flooring Collection at 3daysofdesign 2026

Danish flooring manufacturer ege Carpets introduced its latest modular carpet solution, Superflex, through an immersive installation at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, showcasing how flooring can become both a functional surface and a powerful design element.

Designed for high-traffic commercial and public interiors, Superflex consists of 60 interchangeable components featuring a wide range of shapes, sizes, textures, and visual effects. The collection allows architects and interior designers to create highly customized flooring layouts while seamlessly defining different functional zones within a space.

The new modular system includes two-tone sfumato gradients, organic-cut tone-on-tone patterns, marbled surfaces, stone-inspired relief effects, florals, and patchwork designs. Available in 48 × 48 cm, 96 × 96 cm, and 24 × 96 cm formats, Superflex offers exceptional flexibility for creating dynamic floor compositions with varying scales, rhythms, and geometries.

“The Shape of Perception” Brings Flooring to Life

To launch the collection, ege Carpets collaborated with anthropologist, behavioral researcher, and designer Rikke Skytte, who created an immersive installation titled “The Shape of Perception.”

The exhibition transformed Superflex from a flooring product into an experiential environment, exploring how geometry, texture, and material influence human perception and emotional response.

The installation featured floating sculptural forms—including cubes, cylinders, spheres, prisms, and cuboids—fully covered with Superflex materials. Draped textiles, loose carpet fibers, and metal frameworks wrapped in fabric remnants completed the artistic landscape, encouraging visitors to engage with the materials through sight, touch, and spatial interaction.

Designed for Creative Commercial Interiors

Beyond its artistic presentation, Superflex demonstrates practical advantages for architects, hospitality designers, workplace planners, and commercial developers.

Its modular structure enables designers to quickly create customized flooring layouts, simplify installation, and adapt spaces to changing functional requirements without sacrificing aesthetics.

By combining design freedom with durable construction, ege Carpets aims to provide a flooring solution that supports creativity while meeting the performance demands of modern commercial environments.

As flexible workplace design and experiential interiors continue to shape the architecture and flooring sectors, Superflex represents a new generation of modular carpet systems where geometry, functionality, and sensory design converge.
