Renowned for their high quality and craftsmanship, Afghan handwoven carpets brought in more than $15 million in export revenue last year.
According to Xinhua, Ahundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, stated that the country’s carpet exports surpassed $15 million in the previous fiscal year. Handwoven carpets remain one of Afghanistan’s key export products and play a vital role in its national economy.
