Azerbaijan Showcases National Heritage in Tajikistan Cultural Exhibition

Azerbaijan’s rich cultural legacy took center stage in Tajikistan with the opening of the exhibition “National Heritage of Azerbaijan Living in Pearls of Art” at the National Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe. The event is part of the ongoing Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Tajikistan, aimed at deepening cultural ties between the two nations.

The opening ceremony drew high-level attendees including the Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, as well as ambassadors from Türkiye, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and other nations, alongside leading figures from the cultural and public sectors.

Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the National Museum of Tajikistan, welcomed the audience with remarks on the importance of hosting Azerbaijan’s artistic and historical treasures. He emphasized the museum’s commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue through such exhibitions.

Shirin Malikova, Honored Cultural Worker and Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, presented the concept behind the exhibition, highlighting its role in celebrating Azerbaijan’s heritage and artistic resilience.

Visitors were treated to a striking display of handmade Azerbaijani rugs and carpets, curated from the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, alongside other works showcasing the country’s diverse artistic traditions.

The exhibition also commemorates the fifth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, featuring photographs documenting both the destruction of cultural landmarks during Armenia’s occupation and Azerbaijan’s ongoing restoration efforts in liberated territories.

The exhibition stands as a powerful tribute to Azerbaijan’s enduring cultural identity and its role in regional artistic exchange.
