Fresh from Milan Design Week 2025 and the 5VIE off-Salone circuit, the “Girotondo” collection by Sara Ricciardi Studio is a heartwarming celebration of love, joy, and spontaneity—through the eyes of children.
Inspired by the simple yet profound question, “What is love?”, posed to children in a workshop led by Ricciardi’s team, the collection captures unfiltered emotions and innocent creativity. The result is a vibrant ensemble of six sculptural vases and nine colorful rugs, designed to resemble children’s doodles, both in spirit and in form.
The rugs, hand-tufted in India by master artisans from NODUS, blend wool and viscose in bold, fluid shapes and alternating textures. Their seemingly whimsical patterns—marked by irregular pile heights and vibrant color fields—mimic the spontaneous lines of a child’s crayon drawing.
“’Girotondo’ is a dance of love,” says the designer. “A vision of affection, endless movement, and joyful connection.”
Each rug, priced at €600 + VAT, is made to order with a delivery window of 12–14 weeks—positioning the collection as an affordable entry into collectible design, without compromising the craftsmanship and conceptual depth synonymous with NODUS.
Photographed by Marco Moretto, the collection presents love beyond language—an immersive, tactile interpretation of childhood sketches, where design becomes an emotional experience. The six vases, arranged in a circle, echo the innocence and sincerity of a child’s first understanding of love.
“Girotondo” is more than a design project. It is an invitation to see the world—and love—through untamed, unfiltered eyes.
