Groz-Beckert has announced a new collaboration with Tretford Carpet | Weseler Teppich GmbH & Co. KG, aimed at optimizing the production of premium carpets through advanced nonwoven technologies.
Trials at Groz-Beckert’s Technical Center Nonwovens
As part of the initiative, trials were conducted at Groz-Beckert’s Technical Center Nonwovens at its headquarters in Albstadt. The tests focused on identifying innovative solutions to enhance the manufacturing process of high-quality goat hair carpets, a hallmark of Tretford’s product portfolio.
Tretford carpets are distinguished by their unique structure: goat hair fibers are processed into a nonwoven fabric and pressed into a ribbed design, which binds and stabilizes the fibers. A backing of jute or glass fleece is then applied to complete the product.
Key Challenges and Areas of Focus
The collaborative trials aim to address two central challenges in carpet manufacturing:
- Achieving consistent fiber distribution
- Ensuring the desired uniformity of the material
By refining these processes, Groz-Beckert and Tretford seek to improve both efficiency and quality in premium carpet production.
Innovation Through Partnership
This proect represents Groz-Beckert’s ongoing commitment to supporting its partners with cutting-edge technological expertise. By working closely with Tretford Carpet, the company aims to open new avenues for innovation while maintaining the high standards of durability and comfort that customers expect.
“We are confident that these improvements will further strengthen Tretford’s ability to deliver premium carpets while creating opportunities for future advancements,” Groz-Beckert stated.
