Jaipur Living will debut its limited-edition Majnun area rug collection, created in collaboration with acclaimed designer and AD100 award-winner Pavitra Rajaram, at the fall edition of High Point Market.
Drawing on historic design traditions from across the Indian subcontinent and the Silk Route, the collection reinterprets Persian, Chinese, and Indian cultural motifs through a modern lens. “Ancient traditions teach us that art doesn’t have an expiry date. Artists always speak in the language of now,” said Rajaram, noting her alignment with Jaipur Living’s craft-centric, global Indian philosophy.
Hand-knotted from a luxurious wool and silk blend, each rug incorporates the symbolic “Persian flaw,” an intentional imperfection reflecting the belief that only the divine can achieve perfection.
The Majnun collection features three designs—Arjumand (a Mughal garden in bloom), Bahaar (a reimagined hunting scene of harmony and resilience), and Sakya (bridging sacred traditions with Cintamani symbolism)—each offered in two distinct colorways, for a total of six unique rugs.
