From Desert Inspiration to Palace Floors
The defining moment for ZUMA came when the Rulers of the UAE were photographed at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi during Eid Al Adha, standing on the company’s elegant Dunes Crema carpet. Designed and crafted in Dubai, the piece exemplified ZUMA’s core philosophy — prestige through design excellence.
“Our products reaching the most prestigious palace in the country was a proud and humbling moment,” says co-founder Zubin Rao.
A UAE Brand with Global Reach
Founded in 2020, ZUMA quickly expanded beyond the UAE, providing bespoke carpet solutions for royal residences, luxury hotels, and elite institutions such as the Museum of the Future. Today, the brand serves clients across London, New York, India, Egypt, Nairobi, Nigeria, and Europe, partnering with over 500 interior designers throughout the GCC.
At its Dubai Production City headquarters, a team of textile and product designers conceptualizes each piece before it is handcrafted in ZUMA’s state-of-the-art facility with a monthly production capacity of 3,000 square meters.
The Art and Technique of Hand-Tufting
ZUMA’s expertise lies in hand-tufted carpets, a manufacturing technique that allows for artistic flexibility and faster delivery. The brand is renowned for its large-scale, single-piece carpets — including a 3,000-square-metre creation for a hospitality project and a 600-square-metre custom piece produced in just 26 days.
“We’re pushing the boundaries of design and innovation in modern hand-tufted carpets,” says Zubin.
Beyond Carpets: Complete Interior Solutions
Evolving from carpet design to a full interior design consultancy, ZUMA now offers fit-out services, parquet flooring, and bespoke furniture. The firm has delivered 14 turnkey projects, including residences at One Palm Jumeirah, Dorchester, One JBR, and luxury villas in Sobha Hartland and Arabian Ranches.
“Carpets and interiors don’t compete — they harmonize to create incredible spaces,” says Mallika Dewan.
