interzum bogota Bogota 2026

interzum bogota 2026, organised by Koelnmesse and its partner Corferias, closed the third edition under the interzum brand in Colombia. Overall, it was the 17th edition of the trade fair, which was previously held under the name La Feria Mueble y Madera before being rebranded as interzum. The fair welcomed nearly 11,000 professional visitors, around 200 exhibitors from 19 countries, and an agenda that brought together business, knowledge, sustainability, design, specialised supplies, and regional networking.

The edition sent a relevant signal to the market. Beyond visitor numbers, exhibitors highlighted an improvement in the visitor profile: buyers with stronger commercial affinity, professionals involved in specification decisions, companies looking for suppliers and stakeholders with a real interest in opening short, medium, and longterm conversations.

For interzum bogota, this balance reflects an evolution. The trade fair is no longer defined solely by the local history of furniture and wood. Today, it has its own voice within the interzum brand family and plays a broader role for Latin America and the Caribbean: bringing technology, materials, components, machinery, technical knowledge and specialised buyers closer to a region seeking greater participation in the global furniture and woodworking industry.

“We were positively surprised by how the trade fair works as a strategic access point to Central and Latin American markets. We had conversations with visitors from countries such as Panama, Guatemala and Costa Rica, among others, which opens up new opportunities and confirms interzum bogota as a relevant meeting point for the industry,” said Joaquín Verdú Hernández, Sales Director at Verdú, Spain.

The quality of the exhibition was also visible in the brands present across the different sectors of the fair. Colombian companies such as Pelikano, Primadera, Toin, Ducasse, Sierras y Equipos and Espumas Santafé were joined by international names including Kronospan, Jowat, Hettich, Simonswerk, Biesse, Bäumer, Barrette Wood, Vantec and Cortecloud. Together, they showed the range of solutions that today support furniture manufacturing and interior construction, from materials and components to machinery, software, forestry and specialised supplies.

“This edition gives us a very positive reading: Latin America and the Caribbean are participating more strongly in the international conversation around the furniture, wood, materials and space design industry. From Koelnmesse, we see interzum bogota as a platform with real capacity to bring markets closer together, activate commercial relationships and project the region’s productive talent into a global network,” said Angélica Garzón, Project Manager at Koelnmesse.

Business that goes beyond the four days of the trade fair

The Business Matchmaking programme, held on 13 and 14 May with the support of ProColombia, brought together 50 buyers from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, alongside 70 participating exhibitors, including 23 community forestry initiatives supported by WWF as part of its work to promote responsible forest management and legal timber. With 378 business meetings and expectations of over USD 3 million, this space confirmed one of the trade fair’s most concrete values.

“The growth compared to the previous edition has been very noticeable. This year we received many more international visitors, and the quality of the Colombian visitors was also very high. The fair allowed us to close business during the event and connect with highly relevant profiles for our market,” said Hernán Osorio, Sales Manager LATAM at Hettich.

“At Corferias, we work to ensure that interzum bogota is a beneficial trade fair for those who come to do business, update themselves and find solutions for their companies. This edition showed a positive response from the sector, with more specialised visitors, a solid agenda and a trade show that connected real needs with national and international suppliers,” said Ana Garibello, Project Manager at Corferias for interzum bogota.

A trade fair beyond the product

Under the concept “Roots of the Future”, interzum bogota 2026 expanded the experience with a commercial, academic and practical agenda. The exhibition and the Business Matchmaking programme were complemented by Smart Talks, developed with ACAI, the Colombian Association of Interior Architecture; and by the Creative & Innovation HUB, developed with SENA, the national technical training institution, with workshops, demonstrations and applied exercises around processes, technologies and productive skills. The forestry-related discussions gave a platform through Wood Talks and the Wood and Furniture Forum, developed with the support of Fedemaderas, the association that represents the forest and wood value chain in Colombia. These events brought together experts, institutions and allies such as WWF and Community Forests around legal timber, traceability, conservation, communities, timber construction and regional competitiveness.

Carbon footprint, legal timber and sustainability on the ground

interzum bogota 2026 incorporated a concrete action within its sustainability component: measuring and compensating the trade fair’s carbon footprint, led by Community Forests, an environmental ally with experience in forest conservation and working with communities. This action brought sustainability into a practical conversation for the industry: measuring impacts, compensating them and connecting companies with conservation models on the ground.

The agenda also had the support of Fedemaderas and WWF, allies that contributed technical and environmental criteria on the responsible use of timber, traceability, forest legality and the role of communities within the production chain.

The next edition of interzum bogota will take place from 9 to 12 May 2028 at Corferias.
