Luxury home décor brand June St. George has unveiled its newest rug collection, Kintsugi, inspired by the traditional Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. The collection pays tribute not only to the aesthetics of Kintsugi but also to the deeper values of resilience, gratitude, and transformation.
Founder and designer Ally-Catherine Trenary drew from personal experiences to craft this meaningful collection. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her father gifted Kintsugi ceramics to those who supported their family during challenging times—a symbolic act that now finds its expression through textile design.
Each rug in the Kintsugi collection mimics the elegant fracture lines and gilded repairs characteristic of Kintsugi pottery, reinterpreted into bold, contemporary patterns. Like all June St. George creations, the pieces blend rich storytelling with heirloom-quality craftsmanship, offering consumers rugs that are as emotionally resonant as they are visually stunning.
Adding to its latest offerings, June St. George has also introduced the Asheville Rug, handwoven from premium New Zealand wool in soft gray and green tones, further expanding the brand’s portfolio of sophisticated and meaningful designs.
Trenary, who studied in London and finds inspiration in global cultures and personal journeys, has embedded those influences into the very identity of her brand. The name June St. George reflects both her time abroad—referencing England’s patron saint—and her cherished pet, June Sailor Pansy.
With the Kintsugi collection, June St. George continues its mission to craft timeless rugs with soul, turning personal stories into lasting works of art for modern interiors.
