Oriental Weavers Boosts Capacity with New Polyester Yarn Dyeing Unit

Oriental Weavers, the world’s leading manufacturer of woven carpets, has announced the launch of a new polyester yarn dyeing unit at its Oriental Weavers International facility in Egypt’s 10th of Ramadan industrial zone. The EGP 50 million investment is part of the company’s strategic expansion plan to improve efficiency, strengthen supply chain capabilities, and meet growing global demand.

The newly established unit is equipped with advanced machinery, including soft winding, dyeing, rinsing, drying, and final winding systems. With a daily production capacity of up to 4.75 tons, the facility is designed to fulfill approximately 25% of Oriental Weavers’ internal polyester yarn requirements.

The initiative will allow the company to enhance quality control, reduce production costs, and ensure faster response to market trends. It also reflects Oriental Weavers’ broader sustainability goals, featuring high energy and water efficiency compared to traditional dyeing processes, and contributing to a lower carbon footprint across operations.

“This launch marks a significant milestone in our journey of innovation and growth,” said Ms. Yasmine Khamis, Chair of Oriental Weavers Carpets. “By localizing polyester yarn dyeing, we improve product quality, strengthen Egypt’s manufacturing ecosystem, and solidify our position as a global industry leader.”

Polyester yarn is increasingly favored in carpet production for its dyeability, durability, luster, and resistance to UV rays. With this investment, Oriental Weavers not only gains a technical edge but also contributes to job creation, with the unit expected to generate nearly 40 new employment opportunities.

With manufacturing facilities in Egypt and the United States, Oriental Weavers continues to expand its global footprint while reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and market leadership in the carpet industry.
