In a move set to transform the carpet retail landscape in Tanzania, Hope Holdings, a local investment firm, has partnered with Bolt Tanzania to digitise the operations of its carpet subsidiary, Amal Carpets.
Announced during a press conference in Dar es Salaam, the partnership aims to make high-quality carpets more affordable and accessible to Tanzanian households by leveraging Bolt’s delivery technology and platform. The initiative is part of Hope Holdings’ broader “road to market” strategy, designed to address the distorted brand image created by third-party retailers selling at inflated prices.
“We want to eliminate the notion that Amal Carpets are too expensive and not for the masses,” said Micky Decha, Marketing Manager at Hope Holdings. “Digitisation allows us to directly reach customers and offer controlled, fair pricing without the traditional mark-ups.”
Through integration with Bolt Business delivery services, customers can now order carpets online and have them delivered straight to their homes, minimizing delays and eliminating showroom and intermediary costs.
“This collaboration is about rethinking how Tanzanian businesses can digitise operations to better serve our predominantly low-income communities,” added Milu Kipimo, Senior Country Manager for Bolt Business.
The partnership reflects a growing trend in Tanzania’s retail sector, where businesses are embracing technology and e-commerce to expand market reach and improve customer experience.
