Bozorgmehr Carpet, in cooperation with DEKO Germany, has successfully concluded its participation in the Saudi Carpet & Flooring Exhibition, marking an important step in the company’s international market development strategy across the Middle East.
According to Alireza Pour Ebrahimi, CEO of DEKO Germany and Chairman of Bozorgmehr Carpet, the company began preparing for complex international market access challenges nearly three years ago.
“Due to the serious visa restrictions facing many target markets, DEKO formed a professional international team whose nationality allows seamless access to most countries worldwide. With the strategic foresight of Bozorgmehr’s management, there were no major barriers to our presence in Saudi Arabia,” he explained.
Pour Ebrahimi highlighted the dominant position of Turkish manufacturers in the Saudi machine-made carpet market, stating:
“Today, nearly 90% of Saudi Arabia’s machine-made carpet market is controlled by Turkish producers. This success has been built on political stability, strong banking systems, and smooth trade relations—conditions that Iranian companies unfortunately do not yet fully enjoy. Nevertheless, Iranian manufacturers possess strong technical capabilities and high production quality. With balanced political and financial conditions, real competition would be entirely possible.”
While the event was not a fully specialized exhibition dedicated exclusively to machine-made carpets, the outcome was nevertheless positive.
“After many years of limited Iranian presence in the Saudi market, our participation delivered encouraging and tangible results. This exhibition was part of our broader international marketing and exhibition strategy. Given the limited visibility of other Iranian companies at this event, our presence proved especially effective for sales market expansion,” he added.
He also emphasized the strategic importance of the Saudi carpet market:
“Based on official Saudi economic reports, the Saudi carpet market is both large and highly attractive. However, entering and maintaining a sustainable position in this market requires deep market research, strategic planning, and the establishment of reliable political and financial infrastructures.”
Bozorgmehr Carpet’s participation at the Saudi Carpet & Flooring Exhibition reflects the growing ambition of Iranian manufacturers to regain regional market share and establish sustainable trade partnerships across the GCC and the wider Middle East.
