Born in 1991 in Istanbul, Miray Holoğlu is a contemporary carpet designer whose work stands at the intersection of Anatolia’s rich textile heritage and today’s digital design language. She graduated from the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, specializing in carpet, kilim, and traditional fabric designs—an academic foundation that deeply shaped her design identity.
Holoğlu’s journey into carpet design began early, during her university years, when she started working on hand-woven carpet designs in her second year of study. This early exposure allowed her to build a rare dual understanding of both handcrafted traditions and industrial production realities. After graduation, she expanded her focus to include machine-made carpets, gaining strong technical and aesthetic expertise across different production methods.
